Acquisition of Deployable Shape Memory Alloy Tower

The collaborating team at Texas A&M will acquire a deployable pseudo elastic shape memory alloy (SMA) tower to support the IDEAS² research on deployable systems and smart actuation. The tower will be modeled and tested by the hired undergraduate students under the supervision of the Center PIs. A Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) was signed with the company WAVETRUSS for this purpose.

WAVETRUSS, a St. Louis-based company that is developing deployable systems for space applications, is collaborating with IDEAS² Investigators.
