IDEAS² Center Supported Senior Capstone Design II Projects on Space Engineering

Three Senior Capstone Design II team projects were completed at UH in April 2025 with space engineering themes. These projects were:

  • Rocket Air Brake Design for Active Apogee Control
  • Benchtop Demonstration of Radiative Heat Rejection of a NASA Fuel Cell
  • ISRU Adaptor for Lunar Space Rover

The projects supervised by IDEAS² Center faculty engage students in full-cycle development  from conceptual design and prototyping to testing and validation gaining valuable experience in systems engineering, modeling, fabrication, and communication. These are essential skills for the future aerospace workforce.

UH Senior Design Capstone II team projects focused on space exploration, providing hands-on engineering design experiences to undergraduate students, supporting MIRO aerospace training goals. Capstone II focuses on the experimental testing, validation, and prototyping of systems and devices.
