The Texas A&M MIRO IDEAS² Center team has transitioned into a newly renovated laboratory space that now serves as the primary hub for student-led research in deployable structures. This expansion allows the team to grow and incorporate additional graduate and undergraduate researchers while centralizing its hands-on work in support of MIRO’s goals.
The lab houses advanced deployable structure testbeds, including the WT-HexaSine and WT-OctaSine tensegrity trusses — three-foot sinusoidal systems used for experimental studies in axial and bending behavior.
The new space enhances the team’s capacity for integrated modeling, structural testing, and outreach activities, positioning Texas A&M as a key contributor to the IDEAS² Center’s space infrastructure research and education.
