IDEAS² Center faculty and students participated in the 2025 ASME Aerospace Structures, Structural Dynamics, and Materials (SSDM)Conference held in Houston, March 5–7, 2025. The ASME SSDM Conference is a premier venue for exchanging advances in aerospace structures, materials, and structural health monitoring.

Two presentations from the Center were featured:

  • Rawad Yazbeck (Texas A&M University) presented “Wave Propagation in Tensegrity Structures.”
  • Dr. Tian Chen (University of Houston) shared innovations on “Deployable Structural Concepts for Extraterrestrial Applications.”

Additionally, Dr. Chen co-organized a mini symposium titled “Architected Materials and Metamaterials,” further highlighting the Center’s work in adaptive space systems research.
