IDEAS² Center collaborator Houston Community College (HCC) spearheaded a STEM initiative that paired community college student mentors with middle school students from Olle Middle School. The project involved designing, building, and testing a functional 1/100th scale model of the International Space Station, with high school and community college students engaged in engineering design, 3D printing, and storytelling.
The program aimed to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals while providing students with hands-on experience, teamwork skills, and practical application of their technical knowledge. The initiative was partially supported by the MIRO grant.
